MLP Wants to throw Malta back in time – PN

Malta Independent Friday, 8 February 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 15 years ago

Malta Labour Party leader Alfred Sant has said that he wants Enemalta Corporation to buy energy units from households who have PVC systems at home – little realising that the system already exists, the Nationalist Party said in a statement yesterday.

The PN went on to list a series of measures that have been introduced by the Nationalist government in the energy sector, such as incentives for the use of biodiesel, solar energy and electric cars.

In another statement, the PN said that Labour exponents had confirmed that they wanted Malta to re-negotiate its package with the European Union. Former Labour Foreign Affairs Minister George Vella had, on One Radio, said that the accession treaty Malta had signed with the EU was flawed.

The PN also asked why the MLP never use the EU flags in its party activities, saying that the MLP wanted to throw Malta back in time.
