The Labour election billboards, showing a dancing ballerina, represented exactly what the Labour Party was, the PN said. This was a party engaged in political dancing, continually changing its stance, it said.

For instance, party leader Alfred Sant talked sweetly to shop owners but in its media the MLP gave the impression that shop owners fleeced their clients; he said the Maltese paid too much in taxes but was against the PN proposal to reduce income tax; he wanted educational changes but wanted to make children repeat a class.

And though the MLP said it would respect the people’s decision on EU membership, he wanted to re-open the issue with the EU.

Labour, the PN said, danced as it suited it.
