Education Minister Louis Galea said no proposal had been accepted that would see MATSEC examination re-sits being held in November and December.
Changes to examinations were always made in consultation with students, parents and teachers, he added, and no student would, as a result of some change to the re-sit system, miss a year in post secondary or tertiary courses, starting every October.
The re-sit proposal had been made in a report drawn up by independent experts and published over two years ago, but the government had felt this was not in the best interest of students, so did not implement it.
