Three Romanian youths were conditionally discharged yesterday after pleading guilty to trying to break into a restaurant in St Julian’s.
Before Magistrate Audrey Demicoli, Constantin Calin,19, a waiter and labourers Alin-Dan Ciocan, 21, and Liviu Petrut Dumitru, 23, pleaded guilty to trying to break into Paranga Restaurant on Wednesday at 3am as well as causing less than €1,146.69 (Lm500) in damages to the establishment.
The three men, who share a flat in Sliema, were conditionally discharged for two years.
Police Inspectors Trevor Micallef and Martin Sammut prosecuted while Dr Clarence Busuttil appeared for the accused.
