McDonald’s are to reopen their children’s outside play area at their Malta International Airport Restaurant after having closed it temporarily while works were underway to raise the height of an existing wall separating the play area from a underground garage drive-way.
A spokesman for the company said the management’s attention was drawn to the possibility that the wall in question may conceivably create a safety hazard by being tantalisingly accessible to children.
The company took immediate steps to put this right by erecting a one meter high fence on the said wall, rendering inaccessible.
‘There really was no real immediate danger but we take no chances with safety, more so when it comes to children using our restaurants.
This is why we closed the play area until works made the area unequivocally safe’ the spokesman added.
The McDonald’s play area at the Airport restaurant is now reopen ,the spokesman added.
McDonald’s recently refurbished their restaurant at the airport. It was officially inaugurated last week.
