Depiro had no hassle to hold on to their second spot in the standings. Suns were on the receiving end for most of the match, as Depiro's pressure opened up their rearguard.

Suns always play without any qualms, and the points they obtained against one of the top sides will surely satisfy them. Depiro went for a late century, which they failed due to a missed hoop in the last action of the match.

Suns were without Diane Falzon and Rhian Spiteri was missing for Depiro.

Depiro went out with no favours, and were all over Suns from the very start. After a couple of hoops, Graziella Santillo made a basket for Suns.

Depiro put a lot of pressure on their adversaries, and a long 19-0 run, with a trey by Charlotte Riolo, saw Suns falling rapidly behind. Late in the session Santillo sank a second hoop.

In the second quarter Depiro were still piling up the points. Joselle Cardona was enjoying herself, as she concluded well in the paint. Busuttil Gready also contributed with a trey, as Depiro ran up another heavy 22-0 break. Suns came up with a Nicola Said trey, and at the interval it was a 48-7 score.

After the break Suns had a quick reply to Depiro's opening hoop, with baskets by Santillo and Maria Agius. An 11-0 run saw Depiro picking up their rhythm once more.

Suns found gaps in their opponents' zone, to sink a trio of hoops, but Depiro were putting in their points at a fast pace, as Rachel Camilleri and Renette Debono were their main scorers. After three sessions Depiro led 73-17.

In the final quarter Depiro were still dominant, but not so insistent.

Their bench players had more playing time on court, and put their name on the score sheet. Petra Zammit broke up a Depiro 11-0 run, but the latter made a better 14-0 run, with a Sarah Pace trey. Near the end Depiro strove for the century, as Ruth Farrugia made the last hoop for Suns, but a last second effort bounced off the rim.
