From Dr F. Saliba
Mr Anthony Azzopardi (TMIS, 10 February), intoxicated with the exuberance of his own obtuse verbosity, would like to persuade us to discard all our pre-2008
history as “not worth a
tinker’s curse” and that the recently published books about our recent history by Guido Demarco and Evarist Saliba are “senile propaganda” and not useful contributions to our history as acclaimed by serious commentators whose opinion is much more valuable than that of Mr Azzopardi.
It is his foolish prophecy that today’s electorate is going to take his unsolicited and ridiculous advice to ignore the hard lessons of our recent past which, according to him, are “more or less bunk” and to open the pages of our history now, with new leaders who would feel free to repeat the same mistakes but this time under the aegis of the European Union!
Now that is what I would call absolute bunkum.
Francis Saliba
