Cleaven Frendo managed to shrug off a rather lean spell earlier in the season to emerge as one of his team’s kingpins in this crucial part of the BOV Premier League. January turned out to be a fresh page as he scored twice in Marsaxlokk’s 3-1 victory over Birkirkara, marking a return to form for both player and team.
Frendo added another personal accolade after scoring Malta’s winning goal against Iceland in the Malta International Football Tournament. His main assets are a high work-rate, speed off the mark and a hard right-footed shot which very often has beaten the opposing goalkeeper.
The Ursuline Creche was the charitable institution chosen by Frendo to benefit from the monthly donation associated with this award.
