I am writing you this letter from Colombia.
I have just received a donation of 1,200 euros for the project “New Horizon” which I work on in Bogotá, Colombia. It is a small project however it is helping several women who have escaped from terrorists in the jungle and are now trying to survive here in the city of Bogotá.
We teach them to paint cards and lately we have started weaving shawls, hoping that they will form cooperatives in order to be able to sustain their families. Our greatest difficulty is to sell the product however, up until now, we are managing to get by and have increased the number of participants.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all the Maltese people who help the Malta Mission Fund of Mosta, by sending used stamps and other items, as well as those who participate in their fund raising activities in order to collect funds to help the missioners abroad. Even though, we, the missioners are the ones working away from home, it is impossible for us to be able to help so many people in need if it wasn’t for your generosity and prayers, and thus all benefactors are co-workers in our mission work.
May God bless you all, while we count on your daily prayers and help.
Miss Rose MallIa
Lay Missioner in Colombia.
