GO Plus TV Statement on cable TV advertising

Malta Independent Thursday, 21 February 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

GO Plus TV yesterday said that the adverts being published by the competing cable television company with regard to the Disney Channel are incorrect.

The adverts claim that the cable company has exclusivity on Disney Channel, when in actual fact this is not true as GO Plus TV has concluded a distribution agreement with Disney Channel and launched the channel on its platform on 10 February 2008.

The addition of the world-famous Disney Channel to the GO Plus line-up of top-quality channels has proved to be a popular move with the increasing number of new customers opting for the service offered by GO Plus every day. All GO Plus subscribers (including Free+) will be receiving Disney Channel at no extra charge until the end of the month. As from 1 March, Disney Channel will be available within the affordable Silver+ and Gold+ packages.

Commenting about this issue, Keith Fearne, GO’s Chief Commercial Officer stated:

“There has been a very big campaign by the competition, focused on getting the message across that the Disney Channel was their exclusive property. Even now they are still carrying adverts to that effect.

“Disney Channel is one of the many channels being carried today by GO Plus, and which continues to add value to our line-up of channels which people really want to watch.”
