Vodafone Malta Limited is inviting everyone in Gozo this Saturday and Sunday for a weekend of fun. Families are invited to join in activities being held at the Cittadella, which will bring the historic city to life.

The weekend activities start at 10am and go on until 1pm, re-opening at 5pm until late on Saturday, while on Sunday afternoon events start at 2pm. Attractions for the weekend include re-enactment shows, tours of the Cittadella, a wine festival, a buffet and a kid’s area.

Activities for all the family will be held in the ex-Artisan School and the surrounding bastions and children will have a dedicated area throughout the day, including a bouncy castle. A cafeteria will be open throughout the day on the bastions overlooking beautiful Gozitan scenery. On Saturday morning, 20 re-enactors dressed in period costumes will march around the streets of Victoria and recreate an environment from an era which has led the way to today’s richness in culture and heritage. The show will end with a battle re-enactment in the Cathedral Square.

At night the Cittadella will be an impressive site lit by candle-light. A wine festival will be held by Gozo Express Services, exclusive distributors for Camilleri Wines in Gozo, complemented with a food buffet by Maji Wine & Dine.

On Saturday night the city will host the Gozitan band Spektrum, Thea Saliba - the Vodafone Face competition winner for 2008, and an acoustic performance by Ivan and Melvin from Winter Moods and by Bitterside. On Sunday night the concert kicks off with a performance by Mistaken Identity while Johnny Cash and band will close off the activities.

Entrance to the Vodafone weekend is free of charge. There are several prizes to be won including a mobile phone and other Vodafone gifts. Draws will take place every hour. To participate in the draws customers need to present their invite which is being delivered to all Gozitan households. Alternatively the free invite can be collected from Vodafone’s Retail Outlet in Arkadia in Victoria, until Saturday morning.
