Ramis were the only Division I side to take all eight points in week six of the Middlesea Valletta Life National League which is ongoing at the Eden SuperBowl. Third placed Royal Shock were on the losing end of the result, meaning that top two Aercomms and Fina First pulled away from the pack with similar six point wins against HSBC and Turu’s Knights respectively. There were also majority victories for Pharmavet against The Clan, and Globalair Travel against Inlusion.
Ramis jump from eighth to fifth thanks to their one-sided thrashing of trophy chasers Royal Shock who stay third in spite of their loss. Ramis opened with an unimpressive 736-688 win to go 2-0 up, and then doubled their lead with a much better 827-733 effort in game two. Both Aercomms and Fina First advanced with majority victories this week, leaders Aercomms overcoming fourth placed HSBC in a 2-6 result. It was HSBC who were first to make the scoreboard thanks to their close 790-777 game one win, but it was soon all square as Aercomms bounced back with a 757-791 equaliser in game two. HSBC registered a good 776 final game, but Aercomms made sure of victory with an excellent 869 team effort to snatch the series point by 114 pins (2,323-2,437). Dennis Mercieca (Aercomms), 631.
Fina First’s 6-2 win came against the youthful Turu’s Knights outfit. As if mirroring the Arcomms-HSBC result, it was Turu’s Knights who clinched the early points, taking the first of the set 702-768. Fina First responded well to make it 2-2 with a good 846-779 win in game two, and then went 900+ for the second time already this season to take game three 918-731, and the series points by 188 pins for the victory (2,466-2,278). Globalair Travel are in unfamiliar relegation waters, but aided their quest for survival in week six with a 2-6 win against Inlusion who slip to sixth with the defeat. The two sides traded games in the first two, with Globalair taking the opener 736-765, but then Inlusion made it all square with a 779-730 game two victory. Game three saw Globalair demolish any hopes inlusion had of a match win, or even a draw with a heavy 666-797 win for overall victory. Neil Sullivan (Globalair Travel), 657-Bowler of the Week. It was Pharmavet’s turn for the easy points of the week with their 6-2 victory over this season’s pushover side, The Clan. The eventual winners began with a solid 815-710 opening win, but then The Clan clawed their way back with an extremely tight 774-746 game two win to level it.
