From V. Camilleri
Watching the TV news reports of Monday’s (18 February) political debate at university was a very sad affair.
I noted that a certain section of the students present made nothing out of our membership in the European Union where tolerance and freedom of expression are sacred.
Worse still, I noted that, unfortunately, there would always be a marmalja (rabble) among us. From what I saw it seems that university students supporting the Nationalist Party have taken over.
Conspicuous in this rabble was an obnoxious young twerp mouthing obscenities at a TV cameraman.
Alas! Some mothers do still ’ave ’em.
