Walk down any aisle at an International Broadcasting Convention anywhere in the world, introduce yourself to someone there as a Maltese citizen and you will automatically find yourself talking to this stranger about Joe Spiteri.

When watching TV we barely appreciate the immense effort that goes on behind the scenes to deliver a picture to the TV set. With endless resources available, even international TV giants encounter the occasional difficulty in delivering their services. It all becomes significantly more complex when resources are limited as in the case of Malta.

From the first days of black and white television broadcasting in Malta, all the way to FM radio broadcasting, Cable TV transmission and lately DTTV transmissions, Malta was blessed to have Joe Spiteri at the forefront of these technological activities.

A truly charismatic person, his technical brilliance and his exceptional ability to lead, charm, persuade, inspire, and influence people positively shall surely be missed by the entire broadcasting and communications community.
