We all remember Labour’s lack of trust in the EU on the eve of the EU referendum. Labour was all out against the EU and mocked all that the EU Commissioners had to say and the advice given by many that EU membership would be beneficial to Malta.
Suddenly Alfred Sant feels confident that he can renegotiate the hardest chapters of the acquis. This raises an immediate question – if Labour wanted to negotiate why did they arrogantly refuse to participate and be part of the consultation process during the Malta-EU negotiations?
