Reference is being made to Odds and Ends (TMID, 25 February).

As regarding to St Julian’s, kindly be informed that as a council we do carry out maintenance of all signs and road markings like zebra crossings on regular basis.

The amount of cars that pass from Birkirkara Road and our climate do not help to keep the paint visible and clean. Though with that particular zebra crossing there are belisha beacons to indicate that there is a zebra crossing especially in the dark.

It is good to know that for the mentioned playground a tender has already been awarded and works will start soon.

I hope you do not say that these works will be carried out because the election is round the corner.
