The Kindergarten Programme at Chiswick House School starts at Reception Class – an optional class for pupils aged two-and-a-half to three, the school said.

These children then proceed to Kg I – they are joined at this level by other three-year olds who start school at this level. They are promoted to Kg II where the children are generally four-year olds. At the start of their Junior Education in Junior I most are five years old.

“Therefore it is quite apparent that our ‘Reception Class’ is not the same educational concept that the Malta Labour Party’s manifesto (p.36, No.10) has in mind. Our students end their compulsory education programme at 16, like all other Maltese students. Since we have also opened a Sixth Form College, students may opt to take on this post-secondary course.”
