A young woman from Ghajnsielem is in critical condition following a traffic accident in Triq Hamet in Xaghra, early yesterday morning.
In a statement, the police said she was a passenger in an Opel Corsa driven by a 19-year-old who lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall and an electricity pole.
The driver, who is from Ghajnsielem, was not seriously injured and is receiving medical attention.
Magistrate Anthony Ellul is holding an inquiry.
