Having taken a neutral position in this regard, and having re-read his 'Between a rock and a hard place' (TMID, 9 February), I ask Charles, why do you regard Daphne Caruana Galizia's journalism as "gutter"? Would a Labour government suppress her writings?

Have you not read l-Orizzont or it-Torca lately? Have you not heard Charlie Mangion's questioning the PN's DNA?

Further along, Charles augurs that 'may the best man win" and, according to him, Alfred Sant is the man! Is that why in all the surveys taken to date, Lawrence Gonzi always comes on top by a wide margin? Dr Sant was not even able to produce an election manifesto without having to correct it twice. He was not even aware that some four or more projects he had intended to implement if elected were already in place for months! You call that competence?

Going back to Mr Buttigieg's 'New beginning' it seems that one of us will be buying drinks, but did he not get things twisted around a bit? As far as I know, it is the loser who buys the drinks. I point this out because if the PN wins he will buy drinks and I want to assure him that since I drink very little these days, his tab will be quite manageable.

The PN will win not only because Dr Gonzi outclasses Dr Sant anytime but because a PN government is the only one which will guarantee a permanent stay in the European Union, more good jobs, a continued good relationship with the other EU members and beyond and a well managed economy free of government interference.

I assure Charles that I will look him up on my next visit no matter who wins, although there is very little doubt in my mind.
