An elderly man collapsed and died after being involved in a collision between a car and a bus in Senglea.

The incident took place at about 12.30pm in Panzavecchia Street. In a statement, the police said that the accident took place between Hyundai Accent driven by the 75-year-old and a bus.

The local wardens were informed of the accident and no one was physically injured, however the elderly man unfortunately collapsed and died.

Duty Magistrate Michael Mallia appointed a number of experts to assist in an on-site inquiry and an autopsy is expected to be held today.
