Banjos started well and forged ahead 4-1 at a certain stage. However Ta’ Xbiex ASC quickly recovered by scoring three shots to make the score even. Play continued to be balanced until time up which saw both teams ending the quarter 7-7

In the second quarter, Ta’Xbiex ASC played much better and managed to score a further nine goals to Banjos’s three thus ending this quarter 16-10 ahead at half-time .

In the third, play continued much to the same pattern with Ta’ Xbiex making better use of their chances: in fact they scored a further 14 points to Banjos’ six making the score 30 for Ta’ Xbiex and Banjos 16.

In the final quarter, it was again Ta’ Xbiex ASC who continued where they left in the previous quarter by increasing their score by 9-3 making the final score read Ta’ Xbiex 39 Kerygma Banjos 19.

Mellieha 28

A very exciting game from beginning to end, in which both teams fought throughout the whole game.

United started the game very strongly and, being quite accurate in their shooting, managed to finish the first quarter of the game with a 10-5 lead over Mellieha.

The second quarter was slightly better for Mellieha, who managed to finish the second quarter 16-13, however with United still in the lead.

The third quarter was quite similar to the second and once again very balanced with consistency from both teams especially where the shooting was concerned.

However, United managed to end this quarter once again in the lead, the score ending 23-20 for this quarter.

The last quarter was a very exciting one in which Mellieha tried very hard. They managed to take advantage of a few bad passes from United’s side, succeeding in the last three minutes of the game to take the lead and therefore finish the game with a win over of 28-26 over United.

Kerygma Kaizers 37

All Ages E-Motions 9

In a second division match, Kerygma Kaizers had an easy victory even if they did not field their best formation against All Ages E-Motions.

The first quarter went to the winners on a 10-3 score. In the second they continued to dominate and at the end, were leading 17-6.

They further increased the gap in the third session which they won 11-2 to go on a 28-8 lead. And in the final quarter, they again won 9-1 for an overall scoreline of 37-9.
