The secretary of the Federation for Hunting and Conservation – Malta (FKNK) addressed Brussels general assembly of the Federation of Associations for Hunting and Conservation in the EU (FACE) regarding the recent EU commission decision to take Malta to the European Court of Justice over spring hunting.

Through its 36 members, the national hunters’ associations of the member states of the European Union and Council of Europe countries, FACE represents the interests of over seven million European hunters.

FKNK’s petition, which at present is being signed by any European citizen who agrees with the appeal, was also presented to the general assembly.

Several heads of the various national hunters’ associations present at the assembly signed the petition in representation of their country’s hunters, and others are expected to follow, the FKNK said.

It added that the petition may be signed by Maltese citizens at the various FKNK outlets in the country.
