Rugby … It is safe

Malta Independent Thursday, 13 March 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 19 years ago

“At first sight one might think that rugby is dangerous and violent but it’s totally the contrary” said determinedly coach Esther Azzopardi

Rugby is being practised for the second year round at Skolaport, which is organised by the Kunsill Malti ghall-iSport and partly sponsored by Kelloggs

Rugby is gradually and steadily gaining popularity in Skolasport and also in several schools in Malta. Many active clubs and members are on the increase, and Skolasport, in line with this verve, is presenting rugby sessions every Saturday morning at the Marsa Sports Complex for youngsters aged between 11 and 16 years.

All physical structures and requirements are called for during these sessions which start with warming up and stretching exercises and followed by ball handling and passing skills. After … it is game time.

Through sports, Skolasport provides physical activity and enjoyable moments among its participants. This is one of the main reasons why the Skolasport programme is sponsored by Kellogg’s, the world’s largest breakfast producer.
