Perception is the first painting exhibition by Robert Farrugia soon to be held at Juuls Cafe, St Julian’s. The opening — sponsored by Marsovin – was held yesterday. The exhibition will last all March and April, opening all week during the evenings after 9pm.

Robert is a self taught local upcoming artist always in search of new ideas, draining out his creativity in every possible way and restraining nothing from a free spirit. At the age of twenty did Robert decide to take painting classes at the malta school of arts in Valletta. In the meantime he was taking up a course in the electronics engineering at the mcast institute and graduated in the field. In the second year spent at the school of arts, Robert studied to achieve the art A'level examination mianly through hands on experimentation and books.

Robert is in fact a book worm as well as a keen traveller, Morocco being his best getaway since, India being his ultimate dream. He is also a self taught musician playing guitar, harmonica and piano as well as a singer and lyricist with a local band.

Robert likes to believe that reality is something made up by the tidy mind; perception being the only route through conceiving realties leading to infinite and pure thoughts. His art reflects such notions. Having a personal relationship with his works, Robert tries not to stick with any particular style and technique, working mostly from moods and personal experiences. He deals with his artistic expression giving way to the child inside to do the job.
