Keep Smiling …

Malta Independent Wednesday, 19 March 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Never in the history of Xarabank, did I enjoy the discussion programme as much as I did last Friday. I had some friends over and we all decided to watch what promised to be a serious and sombre analysis of why Labour lost the third consecutive election.

How wrong we were! Instead of a sober discussion we were presented with an exceptionally funny farce, with Jason Micallef in the leading role.

And watching the smiling prince, we immediately understood why Labour is in such disarray. With people like Jason Micallef at the helm, what do you expect? His artificial smile, or rather smirk, was really Hollywood style.

Jason, instead of doing some soul searching, preferred to launch an attack on Labour supporters (present in the hall or in recorded clips) who also blamed him for last Saturday’s Labour debacle. The scenes were as tragic as a Shakespearean drama and as hilarious as comedy at the same time.

How can Labour ever think of winning an election when the secretary general does not even know the exact number of new voters!

Keep on smiling Jason. Even if your smile is as fake as a Prada handbag sold in Piazza San Marco by the vucumpra. Keep smiling. Let us laugh!
