Pampers Baby Dry with Flex, one of the latest nappy products from Pampers, is organising a Family Fun Day at the Splash and Fun Park in Bahar ic-Caghaq next Sunday 30 March. The event aims at providing entertainment for children and families, while creating more awareness about the importance of sleep in a baby’s development.
A baby’s tummy expands and contracts by up to 3cm during sleep, due to movements, breathing and digestion. Pampers understands that this continuous movement could lead to gaps in a nappy. Thus they have developed Caterpillar Flex, unique to Pampers Baby Dry, which provides 12 hours of dryness, and flexes back into shape ensuring leaks will not disturb the baby’s sleep, no matter how much they wriggle.
Opening its doors at 10.30am, Splash and Fun, courtesy of Pampers Flex, will host a series of expert speakers on the importance of sleep. Maryanne Theuma, a childbirth educator, will talk about the pros and cons of co-sleeping. Midwife Mary Louise Bugeja will then speak about safety in sleep. At 12.30 pm, midwife Estelle Calleja will talk about sleeping patterns in the womb and about colic babies, after which TV host Claire Agius Ordway will introduce the importance of using a good nappy.
Child-minding facilities will be provided during the talks. Fun for children will include puppet shows, stilt walkers, carousel rides, bouncy castle, jugglers and magicians. Entrance is free and children will be given tokens for Splash and Fun rides.
In the afternoon, acclaimed author Trevor Zahra will launch the Pampers Flex Story Writing Competition. The competition called “Once upon a time, Flexi the Caterpillar...” is open to people over 18. Participants have to submit a short story of approximately 200 words in either Maltese or English, for infants and very young children. The five winning stories will be fine tuned with Mr Zahra’s help, and published in both English and Maltese and distributed with Pampers products in supermarkets. Winners will also get a year’s free supply of Pampers Flex products.
