I must confess that I find it difficult to believe that your newspaper was consistently in error when it reported the results of the last local council elections at Ta’ Xbiex.

The Malta Independent on Sunday reported that I polled 209 votes and was elected on the second count. 209 happened to be the quota for the Ta’ Xbiex locality.

As it happened, the residents in my locality overwhelmed me with the highest number of votes (514) on the first count, which is almost equivalent to two and a half quotas, or more than one-third of the valid votes cast at Ta’ Xbiex.

These facts and figures contrast sharply with The Malta Independent on Sunday’s report and do no justice to the standards for accuracy expected from your staff.
