Dingli Swallows notched another victory over bottom placed St Patrick, and are now comfortably in fifth place.

Their victory was a deserved one against a sorry St Patrick side who faded out completely after a very good start.

Haruna Doda went close on seven minutes when he dribbled past a Dingli defender but his rising shot went slightly over.

Five minutes later, Haruna Doda made his way in the Dingli defence, and crossed to Simon Zerafa who shot over the bar when well placed.

On 32 minutes Dingli created a good scoring opportunity with a great move with Ciappara passing to Anywanna who back heeled to the same Ciappara. The latter’s shot was brilliantly saved by Cassar.

On 34 minutes Dingli went ahead when a Jeremy Agius shot was deflected by St Patrick defender Matthew Fleri Soler with the ball finishing in the top corner of the net.

At the start of the second half Dingli’s Anywanna missed a sitter following a Chris Ciappara run on the left flank.

Dingli doubled the score when Etienne Farrugia scored from an acute angle following a fine run on the right.

Six minutes from time Doda was unlucky when his thunderous drive hit the upright. But that was the closest St Patrick could get to scoring at least a consolation goal.
