The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce is again organising a Beginners Course in Wood Carving aiming to enable students to embark on their own woodcarving projects with a helping hand from the tutor. Tuition will be given in low relief and simple carving in the round. It will also include learning how to recognise various timbers and their selection and carving properties as well as looking at the different types of tools required.
The course will be held between the second week of April and June, every Saturday morning and run for 10 sessions, costing e20.96 (Lm9) in all. Tools are to be provided by the student while wood can either be provided by the student or by the society at cost.
