Smart Start – Registration Extended To May 2008

During February, Ministers Austin Gatt and Dolores Cristina inaugurated Smart Start, an initiative that allows families who obtain social benefits, individuals registered with the National Commission for Persons with Disability and Non Governmental Organisations to purchase renovated computers at a reduced price.

These computers will be sold to those who are eligible for the price of e130 (Pentium 3) and e180 (Pentium 4). Eligible individuals are entitled to one computer each, whilst NGOs are entitled to two computers.

In order to register for this scheme, individuals or NGOs are invited to obtain a Smart Start registration form from any Maltapost office in Malta or Gozo. The registration form is to be sent to Smart Start, PO BOX GPO 127, Triq Hal-Qormi, Marsa.

Due to public demand, the registration period has been extended to Friday, 30 May. For more information contact the Information Society Secretariat on 2125-5495.
