The Malta under 19 girls national team beat Ireland in straight sets yesterday.
The national team is taking part in the European Junior Girls European Championships that started on Tuesday and come to an end on Saturday in Liechtenstein.
Martha Curmi and Shana Bugeja played well for Malta with Maria Costa being crucial providing her team mates with excellent attacking opportunities.
Claudette Mifsud was employed in the libero position proving herself to be vital in defence. Final score was 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-20).
Today Malta play Luxembourg at 4.30pm.
