Heritage Malta is organising an educational programme for students in conjunction with the “Sundays with Heritage Malta” which is being held tomorrow.

The programme "Scratching the Surface – discovering prehistory at Ghar Dalam" is tailor-made for children between the ages of 8 and 14. The programme which will focus on Malta’s prehistory and natural heritage is linked with relevant school work and will help students understand better these subjects which are an integral part of the school curriculum. Children will learn about the stratigrafy of the cave and how the various layers each tell a story about the various epochs of Maltese prehistory. During the event the children will be given a special tour combining both historic and scientific information.

Tomorrow, Sundays with Heritage Malta will be focusing on three sites in the south of Malta. Participants will be visiting Ghar Dalam and Borg in-Nadur in Birzebuga and the Tas-Silg temples near Marsaxlokk. For this event Heritage Malta is offering a multi-site ticket for the three sites for e5 (Lm2.15) for adults, students and senior citizens. Children under 16 enter free of charge while Heritage Malta members pay e2 (Lm0.86c).

Tickets can be bought from Ghar Dalam Cave and Museum and Tas-Silg. Admission to Borg in-Nadur and Tas-Silg is only possible with guided tours which will be held at 10.30 am 11.30 am, 2.30 pm and 3.30 pm at Borg in Nadur and at 11 am, 2.30 pm and 3.30 pm at Tas-Silg.

There will be two sessions of the educational programme at Ghar Dalam, one at 2:30 pm and the other at 3:30pm. Participation in these programmes will be free of charge. The duration of each programme is 45 minutes long.

The educational programmes will run in parallel with the adult guided tours, that is, while the adults are visiting Borg in-Nadur or Tas-Silg, the students will remain at Ghar Dalam taking part in the programme.
