Steve Rizzo narrowly took the top spot in the national league rankings after overcoming stiff challenges from Martin Mallia and Tess Camilleri.

This round fielded many of the top 20 ranked local players with Carl Camilleri, Nigel Dunkerly and Robert Sultana showing that they continue to improve and compete at the highest level.

Carl proved to be the surprise of the round, moving up the rankings to end at fourth place and retaining his status as a first division player.

Tess Camilleri once again showed that she is still the top ranked local lady, competing in a mixed league she ended the round narrowly loosing only one match 10-8 in the fifth and final set to Steve Rizzo.

Tess remains the only lady represented in the top division, but Sue Aquilina moves up to second after an outstanding victory over Jonathan Sammut. Jonathan taking runner-up spot to join her in the second division.

James Bonello and Chris Stahl showed that their drop to second was only a minor hiccup and shot straight back up to the top division, unbeaten and with one defeat respectively. Meanwhile, another player to watch, Domingo Lang, continues his march up the tables now moving together with George Goodall into the third division.
