Although I never been active in politics, like the majority of the Maltese, I always took interest in current affairs. A person I always admired and observed for his loyalty and determination is his work is Dr Gavin Gulia. Although he was not elected from the 6th and 7th districts, I still consider him as a very valid person in the MLP. It’s a pity that because of the change in the electoral boundaries he was not elected.
It is in this context that I am here appealing Dr Gulia to seriously consider the post of deputy leader for party affairs with the MLP.
After he made it clear that he will not contest the by-election for the 6th district if the MLP decided that Charles Mangion should relinquish that district, I appeal to the MLP delegates that should Dr Gulia contest the post for deputy leader for party affairs, they support him in full force, because it is people with the determination and credibility of Dr Gulia that the new MLP leader needs by his side.
