Valletta FC’s Frank Temile has been named BOV Player of the Month for March 2008. The trophy was presented to Frank Temile by Victor Denaro, Chief Officer, IT at Bank of Valletta.
Victor Denaro congratulated Frank Temile on his achievement and made reference to BOV’s contribution to local sports through the support of the national football league – the BOV Premier league – and the BOV Player of the Month Award. These initiatives serve to support the development of Maltese sport and encourage athletes to improve their skills in their particular discipline.
Frank Temile was the automatic choice for the March award. His form for the league leaders started picking up soon after the season started in August and has kept soaring until it reached a peak last month when he netted five vital goals for the Lilywhites, which saw them rise to the top of the BOV Premier League.
Temile has established himself as the outstanding foreign player in the Premier Division this season. If this speedy player extends the vintage form he has struck in March, and keeps adding to the eight goals he has scored so far in the Premier League, then Valletta are a good bet to regain the coveted championship crown they last won seven years ago.
