Three Maltese youngsters – Mathias Mallia, Thurston Grixti and Joe Casha – qualified for the Last 32 stage at the European Under 19 championships being held in Glasgow, Scotland.

Mallia finished third in Group C with four wins and three defeats. Grixti finished sixth in Group D despite registering five wins and two defeats, while Casha obtained four wins and three defeats to finish fourth in Group E.

Aaron Busuttil, in Group F and Shaun Sultana, in Group H, failed to qualify. They both registered three wins and four defeats.
