It’s a known fact that, funnily enough, the Malta Labour Party is the most popular with the media although it’s the party in Opposition. Every little thing that seems to happen within the structures of the MLP is of vital importance for the media to discuss, invent and debate. If not, what can they discuss, the increase in prices, the lack of Malta’s competitiveness vis-à-vis EU members, the failure of our education system and how the gonzipn will keep its electoral promises? No! That’s not in the citizen’s interest to know.

Some opinion writers tried to raise doubts and questions about the level playing field in the MLP leadership race. Why don’t we start by having a level playing field in the media’s agenda? I totally agree that the MLP leadership is of utmost importance, but is not the PN’s general secretary race of importance too? Is it an important concern for Ms Wannabe know-it-all Daphne? Will this be an important subject for Where’s Everybody to analyse, make surveys, debate and find archived quotes of what the contenders had said to try and crucify them? Will Peppi carry out a survey on whether people prefer that the PN general secretary be elected from at least among the PN Councillors and not just from the 50 executive members? On the other hand, will we hear NET news crying for their party to be more in the PN member’s interest by opening this vote for the paid-up members?

Wonder why I think we are very far from hearing that. So please shut up or at least practise what you preach.
