Gymstars Gymnastics Club once again was at the centre stage lately having their young athletes receiving their yearly BAGA Awards in Proficiency and Fundamental, as authorised by the British Gymnastics Federation.
The Awards are given to fully assess, review and meet the needs and expectations of all early year children; to provide maximum opportunities for children to realise their full potential and for them to have access to and enjoy participation in Fundamental Movements for early years, which prepares them for participation in all sports including gymnastics.
International competition
The club will once again be holding the annual international competition next July, (Saturday 19 and Sunday 20) and has announced that a record of 16 foreign clubs have already confirmed their participation.
This is the biggest event ever to be held in the sport of gymnastics. The club is determined to continue to venture on such events of international level to further boost the sport of gymnastics in our country.
Summer activities
The club has also initiated the programme for the summer activities. Besides gymnastics, these will include swimming, football, basketball, horse-riding, volleyball and sailing. Children between four and 16 years may participate.
Those interested to take part and wish to have more details, may phone 21660903 or 99660903. Closing date is 5 June, 2008.
