A fantastic cat show was held over Easter weekend by the Malta Feline Guardians Club. The committee members were a little bit sceptical about hosting the show at this time of year, but with a lot of hard work and perseverance on their part, the show turned out to be a great success with a turnout of over 1200 people. Both days were jam packed full of entertainment, and apart from the usual categories and judging, the club hosted a number of specialties giving the domestic cat a chance to shine and show off its beauty.
Saturday’s show was won by a very beautiful male Persian Cat, Eurecat Dior. Sunday’s show was won by a cat that couldn’t be any more different. For the first time in Maltese history a Sphinx cat won General Best. Laurasphinx Mizar, owned by the Malta Feline Guardians Club, not only left the general public in awe of her beauty and grace but also the judges who couldn’t help but choose her. The judges were astonished by the superior quality and standard of cats that were presented at the shows and even commented on the fact that the Maltese could finally show their cats abroad. They also praised the high quality of grooming and presentation which they did not expect from such a small island.

On 8 June the Malta Feline Guardians Club is proudly presenting their 9th Local Cat Show. This cat show was not in the club’s calendar but due to popular demand and many requests, the club has decided to go ahead and hold this show, with help from the main sponsors Almo Nature. The show shall be held at the Coastline Hotel and shall start around 10.30am.
