Clifford Spiteri Cornish in his Opinion Wardens and parking spaces (TMID, 18 April) submitted a photo of a traffic warden’s vehicle parked in a reserved spot, the only one available late in the morning of 15 April.

The warden was fully within the bounds of the law to stop in this spot and this has even been confirmed by a Local Tribunal decision.

Where the warden was certainly at fault was in what she is alleged to have told your correspondent and in the tone of voice he led readers to believe she used.

It is never acceptable for a member of the public to be treated with anything but respect in such a situation.

The warden’s attention has been drawn and every effort will be made for a more constructive attitude to be taken next time.
