The Maltese Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine (MASEM) has recently been set up. Among the objectives of this association is to promote high standards of sports and exercise medicine practice in Malta and encourage the teaching and training at all levels of whoever may in any way become engaged in the practice of SEM in Malta.

The first elected committee is composed of Kirill Micallef-Stafrace as President, Ivan Esposito as Vice-president, Lucienne Attard as Secretary, Clive Bezzina as Treasurer, Aaron Formosa as Research and Development Officer and David Attard as the Secretary for International Affairs.
