It is a great disappointment that Dominic Fenech could cite no better reason than my family relationship for chickening out of giving a reasoned reply to my cogent criticism of his role in obstructing the Evarist Saliba-Lou Bondi review of the book of memoirs “No, Honourable Minister”.

Your readers have every right to expect logical arguments from an academic and why he considers himself morally justified to act simultaneously as judge, jury, prosecutor and defence counsel of televised programmes of which he has advance knowledge that they could be critical of the MLP.

In view of his own admission that he actively promotes the success of the MLP, it is reasonable to expect that he would consider it ethically correct if he, and others in the same boat, were to recuse themselves whenever the editorial board sits in judgement over such matters.
