Mosta were surprisingly held to a 2-2 draw by a spirited St George’s side, and are now joined by Qormi on equal points at the top of the table.
And both Qormi and Mosta could this afternoon be joined by Tarxien who will be facing Dingli. A win for the Rainbows will both the three sides on equla points.
Mosta had a brilliant start yesterday when Carlos Camenzuli beat the offside trap to beat Gatt.
Mosta showed the better ideas but were not dangerous as the Saints played a blinder.
At the start of the second half St George’s had an astonishing five minute spell, scoring two goals to take the lead.
Kurt Formosa equalised with a fine solo effort, and Glenn Barry put Michael Wood’s side ahead on 62 minutes with a precise lob.
Mosta went desperately forward and managed to equalise on 72 minutes when Kalenga headed home a Massimo Grima corner.
Mosta dominated the last minutes in search of the winner but the Saints defended in an organised manner to obtain a deserved equaliser.

Mellieha 0
Qormi made amends for their surprise first round defeat against Mellieha, when yesterday they ran out easy winners 3-0 to join Mosta at the top of the table.
Qormi fully deserved their win thanks to a superb display from Carmel Formosa who bang into form in this decisive phase of the season.
Qormi forged ahead on 26 minutes with a rather dubious goal scored by Michael Borg Olivier.
The yellows continued to dictate matters but only wrapped up the match on the hour when substitute Lee Grima beat Gauci with a low drive from the edge of the area.
Mellieha without Calabretta had no punch up front and suffered a third goal three minutes from time through Clyde Camoin.
