Paying The price

Malta Independent Monday, 28 April 2008, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

The price of milk has gone up. What else is going to happen under a Nationalist government?

They tell us that it is only because of pressure from the international market, and that it is only because the price of fodder for animals has gone up.

They said the same thing when the price of water and electricity was increased through the surcharge.

But what is the government doing to help? Is it enough to say that part of the surcharge is being absorbed by Enemalta Corporation? Is it enough that the Malta Dairy Products has also shouldered part of the costs?

Who are they kidding?

In the meantime, it is the Maltese worker and his family that have to fork out more and more money to buy basic commodities.

The Maltese people made the mistake of re-electing the Nationalist Party in government last month. They have already started to pay the price.
