I had the pleasure to attend the Roberto Benigni Serata Dantesca at the University campus last week, and I must say that it was an experience that I will never forget.

The way the Italian actor performed L’Ultimo Canto was something out of this world, and it is no surprise that he was given a standing ovation.

Benigni came over to be honoured with a degree of Doctor of Literature (honoris causa) by the University of Malta. But this should not have been the first and last time that he visits Malta. Everything possible should be done for him to fly over at least once a year.

It would be even better if he is convinced to shoot his new film here. It would be the best promotion Malta could ever have.
