The Malta Canoe Federation will be opening its doors today to interested members of the public offering a full day, fun packed programme. Canoe polo games, tours, relay races and slalom are the main events of the day, all of which will be based in and around the Sliema Water polo Pitch. Events kick off at 9am.

“In an island surrounded by water with lots of creeks ideal for kayaking and canoeing, it is a wonder that so many have yet to paddle for their first time. Our Federation would like to help so many take that first step into a world of healthy pleasure through physical activity” states MCF President Julian Mamo. “This day will be used to showcase our sport and to allow individuals who may wish to try it out to get a glimpse of its safety, fun and relaxation.”

All equipment for all events will be loaned free of charge, though a donation to support the sport would be greatly appreciated.
