Sliema McDonalds are expected to beat San Giljan this afternoon to take the sole leadership of the Bank of Valletta winter league.

At present, with their main rivals Neptunes Vodafone out of action this week (they have played all their four first round matches), the two rivals are leading the standings on six points each, two ahead of third placed San Giljan, who have four points.

Of course, San Giljan will be having their own say and will be doing their utmost to try and beat Sliema to join the two clubs above them on the six-point mark at the end of the first round.

In today’s other match, Sirens Hard Rock Café and Exiles will be meeting in a match where the two sides will be seeking their first points of the competition. So far, they have lost all their opening three matches.
