During a meeting of the Kummissjoni Festa of the parish of Senglea, which was held on 27 March, it was decided that the commission will make a financial donation which amounts to not less than e1,000 in aid of those families who were victims of the unfortunate accident in Naxxar.

The commission took the decision that the money will be deducted from the planned expenditure to be spent on fireworks for this year’s city’s festivities of the “Our Lady of Victory” feast, in order to show solidarity and respect in brotherhood.

The commission always tries to find a balance between celebrations in church and those held outdoors, and it also tries to avoid useless and excessive expenditure of funds.

The commission encourages other groups and organisations, especially those who in some way or another have a connection with fireworks, to help these families in a practical way, and also through their prayers.
