The Gordon Asciak Tennis School, in collaboration with the Marsa Sports Club and National Coach Rob Tarpey, recently organised a junior tennis tournament. 70 juniors took part in this event who were split up in different groups according to their level.

In the U-8 Group A, 6 year old Helene Pelicano emerged winner beating Miguel Galea in the final. Louisa Valenzia won the match for third and fourth place beating Nicky Schranz. In group B, Sara Gatt beat Robin Marshall in the final.

The U-10 event was won by Angele Van Hear beating Liam Caruana Montalto in a very contested final. Third place was shared by Helene Pelicano and Michela Giglio.

In the U-11 event the boys winner was Luke Hammett beating Timmy Aquilina in the final while Yanica Gusman won the girls event beating Melanie Valenzia in the final.

This tournament proved to be a great success and one could see that there are a few promising players that could emerge for the future. The organisers thanked the Marsa Sports Club for making the courts available.
