The General Soft Drinks Co. Ltd yesterday launched its most recent campaign: “Coca-Cola Goal! Campaign 2008”, in collaboration with the MFA and Euro 2008, during a news conference at the Westin Dragonara Resort.

As official sponsor of Euro 2008 internationally, Coca-Cola is in a position to offer all-inclusive VIP packages to the Euro 2008 final, which include return flights, accommodation, Vienna sight-seeing tours, Coca-Cola merchandise, VIP treatment and Exclusive Category two match tickets for the Euro 2008 final match scheduled to be held at Ernst Heppel Stadium in Vienna on 29 June.

“We as Coca-Cola pride ourselves in offering our consumers once in a lifetime experiences and we have no doubt that winning VIP packages to the Euro 2008 final with Coca-Cola is indeed a dream for any football lover” said Martin Agius, Sales and Marketing Manager of The General Soft Drinks Co Ltd. “Moreover we are also offering all-inclusive packages to the Euro 2008 quarter-finals to be held in Vienna, on 22 June.”

It was also pointed out that through this campaign, Coca-Cola aims to support local football talent. In fact 30 lucky participants of the Coca-Cola Goal! Campaign will be taken on an all-inclusive trip to Graz in Austria to watch and support the Maltese national team in a friendly match against Austria on 30 May.

“We believe it is also important to cultivate the local football talent and increase the level of support of Maltese football. We started this with the Coke Zero Superfan last month which aims to reward those who support their favourite team in the most effective way, and this time we are giving the opportunity for people to watch the Maltese national team in action live, away from Malta.”

On this note, Coca-Cola has also engaged two players from the Malta national football team, Jamie Pace and Roderick Briffa, to endorse the campaign through television and radio advertising.

To participate in the “Coca-Cola Goal! Campaign 2008” consumers can choose to participate by SMS or by post: Participants simply need to drink 0.5 litre PET bottles of Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Sprite or Diet Sprite, gently peel the label and either SMS the unique code, which is found on the bottle, to SMS number 50612000 or complete the required details on the back of the label using a ball point pen and send it to “Goal Campaign 2008”, The General Soft Drinks Co. Ltd, Marsa Industrial Estate, Marsa, MRS 3000.” If drawn as the winners, they will then only need to reply to a simple general knowledge question to become eligible for participation in this unique offer.

The first draw will be held on 23 May and will determine the 30 winners who will travel with the Maltese national team for the friendly match against Austria in Graz on 30 May.

A second draw will be take place on 12 June, wherein each of the five winners will win an all-inclusive trip to watch one of the Euro 2008 quarter-finals to be held on 22 June. The winners of the third and final prize will be drawn on 20 June and will win two packages each for the Euro 2008 Final in Vienna on 29 June. These packages will be ‘all expenses paid’ on a Coca Cola VIP basis.
